The Slave Business

The transport of enslaved people to the American colonies accelerated in the second half of the 17th century. In 1660, Charles II created the Royal African Company (RAC) to trade in enslaved people and African goods. His brother, James II, led the company before ascending the throne.

Under both these kings, the Royal African Company enjoyed a monopoly to transport enslaved people to the English colonies. Between 1672 and 1713, the company bought 125,000 captives on the African coast, losing 20 percent of them to death on the Middle Passage—the journey from the African coast to the Americas.

The Royal African Company’s monopoly ended in 1689. After that date, many more English merchants engaged in the slave trade, greatly increasing the number of enslaved people being transported. Africans who survived the brutal Middle Passage usually arrived in the West Indies, often in Barbados. From there, they were transported to the mainland English colonies on company ships.

The company’s trading efforts were two-fold. Half of its trade relied upon purchasing African goods for sale in England, such as gold, ivory, hides, wax, and dyewood. However, the other part of its trade was focused on the development of the slave trade, bringing people out of Africa to be sold slaves in the West Indies. To bolster profits, the Royal African Company also carried out goods from England, usually re-exports from other nations, to be sold elsewhere.

The Royal African Company spent its latter years concentrating on a trade in gold dust and ivory. With no monopoly on Slave Trading, it had been overtaken by other merchants. Triangular trade boomed. By 1700, over 20000 slaves were being transported by British ships each year, far more than the Royal African Company had transported. Britain was established as the main slave trading nation.

The Proclamation

Passed in 1674 under Charles II, this proclamation describes a brief history of the conflicts between England and the nations of Africa, as well as the history of and reasons behind the creation of the Royal African Company. The proclamation was written in response to reports of Englishmen encroaching on the Company’s monopoly, and reaffirms the rights and domains that had been granted exclusively to the Company.

Unlearn, Deprogram and Re-think EVERYTHING you were taught!

Once the truth is given to a person, if that person TRULY loves the Creator, YHWH is expecting they make an immediate change, NOT take their sweet time getting there when they feel like it!

Acts 17:30

30 And the times of this ignorance YHWH winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent

If you DON'T believe us regarding these facts, GOOD! Go, do your own research, ASK YOUR PASTOR and find out for yourself; but NOW you can’t say "I didn't know!"

2 KhAPhA 2:21 "Peter"

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

ABaRiY 10:26 "Hebrews"

26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins
